FAQs:
What age range is your program designed for?
Our class at Spreckels is currently catered towards students in 2nd to 5th grade. Since this program is new, as it grows we are hoping to expand to all grades soon.
How long is one session?
One session is 10 weeks long and includes a 1 hour craft class after school each week.
What kind of materials will my child be working with?
We prioritize re-using materials that would otherwise be thrown out, like tissue boxes, paper towel rolls, old CDs, etc. We essentially take trash and make them into treasure! If you have any of these items, we welcome donations!
How is this program different from other afterschool art programs?
Sunshine Craft Club focuses on making crafts with children and does not necessarily focus just on painting or drawing. If your child loves tactile learning and making things with their hands, this would be the perfect program for them! We also pair our crafts with lessons in science, art, music, history and more!
Will you be providing snacks?
Yes! We know how hungry these little ones can get after school so I will provide a small no-nut snack before we get crafting. Please indicate any food allergies in the registration form.
Will I know what crafts my kids are doing?
Yes! Guardians will receive an email with the craft of the week and a summary of what was done in class.
Will you be expanding to other schools?
Yes! The hope is to expand to after school craft programs at Curie and Doyle. Please let me know if you have interest there!
